May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all!
In the gospel, Jesus sends his disciples forth to baptize in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. More than a doctrine, the Trinity expresses the heart of our faith; we have experienced the God of creation made known in Jesus Christ and with us always through the Holy Spirit. We celebrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity in word and sacrament, as we profess the creed, and as we are sent into the world to bear witness to our faith.

Today’s festival derives its name from the Jewish festival of Pentecost, observed fifty days after Passover. On the fiftieth day of Easter, we celebrate the Holy Spirit as the power of God among us that heals, forgives, inspires, and unites. In the reading from Acts, images of wind and fire describe the Spirit poured out on disciples of all nations. In John’s gospel the risen Christ breathes the Spirit on his followers on Easter evening. In the one Spirit, we are baptized into one body, and at the Lord’s table, the Spirit unites us for witness in the world.

FREE MEALS at www.summerfoodcolorado.org for kids and teens up to 18 years old. Some locations serve breakfast and lunch, others only breakfast or only lunch. This outreach is available from June 15-August 10.
ADVENT LUTHERAN CHURCH is an emergency Food Bank location. Our address is 7979 Meade Street in Westminster. (We are located just off 80th Avenue, 1 block west of Lowell Blvd.) The food bank is open Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. This is an emergency food bank only.

GROWING HOME offers hope and caring to Adams 50 School District families. Their facility is housed in space provided by the School District at the former Career Enrichment Park. The all-volunteer effort provides clothing, food and other essentials for families in need. More information is available at www.growinghome.org

Join the ADVENTurers for an hour and a half guided tour of Dinosaur Ridge on SATURDAY, JUNE 25TH!! Bring your grandchildren, bring your children, bring your neighbor–we’re all going to learn about dinosaurs, and have a wonderful lunch afterwards at Macaroni Grill. We’ll meet at the church at 9:00 a.m. to carpool. The tour is $3 per person. If you purchase a Scrip Card for the Macaroni Grill, you’ll also be helping out the Youth!
