Construction to improve 80th Avenue began with removal of the bridge over US 36. While this may present a challenge to those who normally travel to Advent along 80th Avenue, it also presents an opportunity to experience different vistas en-route to worship.
As an alternate route from the west consider:
- East on 92d Avenue to Lowell, south on Lowell past 80th Avenue to Meade and west on Meade to Advent.
- East on 76th Avenue to Lowell, north on Lowell to Meade and west on Meade to Advent.
As an alternate from the east consider:
- West on 80th Avenue to Lowell, south on Lowell to Meade and west on Meade to Advent.

You can feel it in the morning, Old Man Winter is ready to put his chill on us. Can you imagine what it would be like to have to face the winter without a coat? Many do. The Social Outreach team is organizing a winter coat drive in conjunction with the Have-a-Heart Project. During the month of October, there will be a drop-off container in the narthex for your gently used coats and sweaters. Please go through your closets and storage bins and find some items you no longer make use of. Children sizes are especially needed. Peace be with you, Social Outreach!

Advent’s Handbell Choir is getting ready for fall, and we need YOU! We need some new ringers this year, and invite anyone who is interested to come to our first rehearsal on Wednesday, September 1, at 8:00 p.m. in the narthex. No experience is necessary, and you only need to be able to count to join!
